What category do you fit in when you are planning out your future? Are you an executioner, dreamer, or visionary? I know plenty of individuals who tell me what they want to do with their lives. I silently ask them, “What are you doing to make that happen?” In silence, I see no movement and hear no movement. I am noticing an incline on the follow-through. Individuals don’t want to do the work in order to succeed. I silently ask, “Why are you NOT doing the work? What is a vision or a plan with no follow-through?” I will tell you; it is exhausting. It is a roller coaster ride that takes you all the way up and brings you down faster than the ride up. The vision or thought is exciting to hear on the way up. On the way down… I am two seconds from leaving the room or hanging up the phone. Who are we trying to impress with our action-less visions. Why do we feel a need to go hard in the paint for likes. #Rhetorical.
Copy-cats are born every day taking what someone did, recreating it, making it theirs and earning billions of dollars because they did the work. That tells me that there is plenty of food to eat. Money is out there for the majority. Why don’t more individuals take advantage of this opportunity? Could it be pure laziness? Could we as individuals just want what we see people have? Could we NOT be as inventive as we would like to be? Or, are we simply comfortable with our mediocre lives? That is for you to decide. Keep in mind, it doesn’t matter what category you fit in. What is most important is that you know where you fit in life. Take that evaluation and stay in your lane. Don’t try to be a Carpenter if you are great at your job being a Customer Service Rep. In other words, don’t look at someone else’s life and make life changing decisions based on an observation that only lasts as long as a baby’s diaper change.
Invest in yourself and not in what you see others doing professionally. Take time out to understand your purpose in life and what your capabilities are. You are important if you just learn what your true talents are. keep in mind, everyone was not born to be a star. You may not be genetically fit for the challenge. There are individuals out there with great plans but their mindset won’t or can’t scroll past their ideas. This makes for a great thinker or visionary with no follow-through. Now, if that person could find an investor to take their idea or ideas, create a plan and finance the idea for a percentage of the profits that individual would be a visionary with a plan to execute for financial gains. #Executioner. If that same individual lie down in bed every morning and dream about winning the lottery but don’t play, day dream about landing their dream job but won’t update their resume nor apply for jobs… Then, that individual is a dreamer.
All of those options are okay. You just need to know where you fit in on that journey. As you continue to drive down that long and winding road… Don’t swerve… Stay in your lane. Be true to who you are and your talents. Be okay with being normal or not as motivated as others. You are definitely important to the people you surround yourself with. You may not notice it because you are too busy living your life through them. Take a moment and be grateful for life. Design your own lane. Create your own category. Set your own pace and then follow-through. Hope this message speaks to someone. God Bless!
